Greener Pathways
In collaboration with Valmet Automotive, Garia A/S is proud to introduce The Garia LSV Concept Car, a street-legal version of The Garia Golf Car. An LSV is a Low Speed Vehicle allowed to travel on public roads not accessible to regular golf carts or neighborhood electric vehicles. At the moment, the U.S. is the largest market for LSVs with an estimated market potential of up to 70.000 cars per year.
"An LSV is ideal for shorter trips and recreational purposes, and with The Garia LSV it is possible to drive directly from your Caribbean villa or vacation home to right to the golf course or beach. This is something many people will appreciate, and it makes The Garia LSV a unique product" says Anders Lynge, Creative Director of Garia A/S and designer of The Garia. The Garia LSV is fitted with street-legal safety equipment such as seatbelts, license plate, and side mirrors. The LSV has a maximum capable speed of 40 km/h, whereas the golf car's maximum capable speed is 24 km/h.
"The development of an LSV version of The Garia Golf Car opens up for versatile use of the vehicle and is therefore a natural part of the product development of Garia A/S. The Garia LSV has been developed in cooperation with Valmet Automotive, and their expertise in engineering and manufacturing electric vehicles has been invaluable", says Mr. Lynge. The Garia LSV will be introduced in the U.S. in the summer 2010. In the EU, The Garia LSV will be introduced as non-street legal. The Garia LSV presented at the Geneva International Motor Show is a concept car.
The series production of The Garia Golf Car started at Valmet Automotive in December 2009. The Geneva International Motor Show is one of the most attractive shows in the world and ranks among the "Top 5 Worldwide" of the most important automobile exhibitions, alongside those in Detroit, Frankfurt, Paris, and Tokyo. It is the only one in Europe which takes place every year. It is the 80th edition of The Geneva International Motor Show.
The Garia LSV Concept Car will debut at the world-renowned motor show in Geneva, March 4-14.
