Scrub Island Resort is inviting guests to be among the first to explore and discover the British Virgin Islands' newest luxury destination - with an exclusive pre-opening "Sneak Peek Bed & Breakfast Package". Scheduled to debut in January 2010, Scrub Island Resort will offer a selection of 26 deluxe ocean view guest rooms and 26 one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites as well as a marina, luxury spa and fitness center, retail shops and spectacular dining establishments, as well as a unique opportunity to explore the unspoiled natural beauty of the island itself.
Discovered nearly 500 years ago by Christopher Columbus, Scrub Island was little more than a stopping point for European explorers en route to new lands, remaining relatively untouched by man for centuries. Today, this private sanctuary is home to Scrub Island Resort, the island's first-ever development and a true haven from the cares of the outside world. Overlooking the sweeping waters between Scrub Island and the Island of Little Camanoe, the resort's rooms have been decorated to evoke the Old World Caribbean. Just a short walk from the resort is Scrub Island's Marina, offering 60 deep-water slips available for lease or transient docking, including five for larger mega-yachts. As the closest marina to the North Drop, the hot spot for world-record Blue Marlin.
Encompassing 230 acres, Scrub Island is fringed by four pristine beaches that shelve gently into the azure sea. Protected coves, panoramic views, and breathtaking nature trails invite exploration by guests. Privacy is paramount here: the developers expect no more than 200 people to be on the island at any time.
